Cleveland Elementary has an opening for a full-time Head Custodian position
Summary & General Purpose
Performs a variety of supervisory duties related to directing and coordinating facility custodial operations.
Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to facility upkeep and routine maintenance.
Responsibilities include
- Provides day-to-day first-line supervision to custodial personnel; determines work priorities and schedules; assigns work shifts and routines, and monitors work in progress; inspects completed work to assure conformity to quality standards; makes recommendations affecting job status and discipline
- Completes preventive and routine maintenance assignments as directed by the District Supervisor of Building and Grounds. Such as, but not limited to: Fire Sprinkler test, fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance, flush valve repair
- Perform general grounds maintenance: mowing lawns, weed control, playground inspection and safety, repairing sprinkler system, etc.
- Performs as lead worker in the completion of routine custodial duties; provides field training; demonstrates processes and procedures as needed.
- Manages custodial inventory; monitors custodial supplies and assures proper inventory of materials and equipment such as chemicals, cleaning supplies, light bulbs, etc.
- Assures compliance with established budget constraints and goals.
- Conducts routine and regular facility inspections; monitors work activities of less experienced personnel to assure compliance with safety and other work standards.
- Performs seasonal facility maintenance tasks such as floor stripping and refinishing, shampooing of carpets, auto scrubbing, etc.
- Buffs, dusts, waxes, washes and polishes floors removing scuff marks, heavy dirt, scratches, etc; vacuums rugs, washes and cleans walls, door frames, doors and glass; empties and cleans waste receptacles; clean and sanitizes restroom sinks and bowls; washes windows; performs related tasks as needed to maintain clean and attractive facilities.
- Replaces burned out lamps; snow removal by operating snow blowers and shovels; may perform general maintenance and repairs to desks, chairs, doors, and other aspects of the facility.
- Monitors facility heating and cooling systems, inspect/and replace filters and belts as needed; perform general facility security tasks; assures that rooms, offices, and various school areas are locked and secure; provides access to various public interest groups which have scheduled use of facilities, rooms and equipment.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school.
- Knowledge of practices, tools, equipment and materials used in custodial work
- Ability to operate tools and equipment used in custodial work
- Ability to do overhead work on ladders at varying heights
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to perform heaving lifting and other duties requiring moderate physical strength
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees and supervisors
- Ability to maintain confidentiality

Bus Drivers
The Emery County School District has openings for Regular Route and Relief Bus Drivers
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Transport students to various activities; monitor activity and behavior to assure safety; may administer routine discipline as needed to maintain order and safety.
- Perform basic pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles; assure proper fuel and other fluid levels; complete various travel records and log and sign-in sheets as required.
- Participate in various traiing and workshop activities related to operating standards, processes and procedures.

Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Commerical Drivers License, have a clean driving record, and be willing to operate a school bus during various weather extremes and highway conditions.
- At least 21 years of age and meet related criteria as described under "Standards for Utah School Buses and Operations".
- Sufficient education to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform necessary duties, and at least three years experience in driving, preferably in multi-passenger vehicles - or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successfully pass required driving competency tests leading to the acquisition of required licensing.
- Knowledge of: 1) geographical region to be driven; 2) state highway and driving laws; and 3) vehicle operation and safety regulations.
- Ability to establish effective working relationship with supervisors, co-workers, parents and students.
- Ability to demonstrate maturity in dealing with various child and adolescent behaviors.

There are four different options, choose the one that best fits your needs. Currently the price for these different options are: $39.95 for either basic course A or basic course B. $59.95 for the Premium course, and $79.95 for the Ultimate course. Emery School District will accept any of these options.
SubSkills training is not required to be a substitute and is at your own cost.
